Alpine Lake + Hiking Elopement Celebration | Silver Lake

When you want to have an alpine lake all to yourself for your elopement, it is best to get up before the sun. We started at the trailhead at 3am on a brisk Saturday morning. The switchbacks and river crossings quickly warmed us up as we climbed into the cirque to reach Silver Lake and White Baldy. Upon reaching the lake we warmed up with some tea as the stars began to fade and the air became still. Slowly the light began to spill in from behind the mountains turning the water gold.
This sunrise adventure was spent celebrating Aurora + Daniel’s love for one another and their adorable pups. Tacoma and Roxy had a lot of fun swimming in the lake and exploring along the trail. Roxy would even let out howls to let us know how thrilled she was! We wandered around the lake and along trails that brought us to view different aspects of the mountains and peer out into the valley. As the sun rose higher the alpenglow turned from pink to gold setting the whole scene alive in golden light.
Aurora and Daniel met abroad and lived in Germany before coming to the Unites States, where Daniel is from. Aurora is originally from Mexico and was studying abroad when she met Daniel. The two have traveled through much of Europe and Asia. Japan was one of their favorite countries that they have been to together. They had been married a few years before, but wanted an epic adventure to celebrate their love. While traveling abroad for the celebration was not possible, we found ourselves a pretty wild place here in the states.
Utah has brought them many new adventures as well and a love for hiking and exploring new places. Tacoma and Roxy love going on hikes or runs with their parents. Silver Lake was a beautiful spot for this alpine lake elopement celebration. The hiking it took to get there was not very technical, and it is the perfect location to bring along your adventurous pets!
